Islamic Relief Worldwide has been present in Bosnia and Herzegovina since 1992 and through its work continuously provides assistance and support to the population of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and seeks to mitigate the negative socio-economic impacts.

Currently, Islamic Relief Bosnia and Herzegovina (IR&BIH) has its main office in Sarajevo and a sub-office in Tuzla. IR B&H operates many projects in different programs such as Child Welfare, Projects of psychosocial support, Agriculture, Fundraising, Emergency and Seasonal Projects. We operate across Bosnia and Herzegovina and work closely with Muslims and Non-Muslims, regardless of race, political affiliation, gender and belief.

Job Summary:

The Recruitment of MEAL Officer will be as a support to the MEAL department in improving and developing tools, methods and strategies aiming for quality of humanitarian (emergency, development & other) services and accountability to affected populationsunder the supervision of MEAL Coordinator & Country Director.

Job description:

Working closely with MEAL Coordinator and Program Management staff to ensure consistent and standardized implementation of the MEAL framework and updating with relevant teams when necessary
In consultation with sector experts and the program team, supports the development of an Information Management System (IMS) to track data on rights holders at the project, activity, output and outcome levels
Assists in the development of various qualitative and quantitative tools and strategies for monitoring and evaluating IR BiH projects and programs in accordance with local laws, policies and regulations of Islamic Relief
During regular field visits, implements and coordinates data collection at project locations in order to monitor program development and ensure timely data collection and reporting; record and document lessons learned, and advocate for extension best practices
Assist the MEAL Coordinator, in collaboration with relevant national staff, in the existing Community of Practice (COP) to meet regularly and discuss lessons, best practices and case studies
Coordinates with relevant personnel at the level of IR BiH and IRW to ensure compliance with the Basic Humanitarian Standard and IRW’s quality management system – IHSAN
Ensures that the project achieves its overall goal in accordance with all policies and guidelines of IRW and IR BiH
Represent Islamic Relief BiH in relevant coordination bodies and participate in webinars, workshops, meetings and other relevant events at the national, regional and global level
Performs other duties as directed by the Director and MEAL Coordinator
Essential:
Qualifications,Knowledge, Experience, Skills
Completed high school in social or economic studies (VI degree)
at least two ( two) year of practical experience in improving and developing tools, methods and strategies aiming for quality of humanitarian (emergency, development & other) services and accountability
additional training/certification – may be an advantage
To establish good working relationships with a variety of people
To work under pressure and prioritize effectively
Excellent written and spoken English
Active driver (B category)
Working knowledge of MS Office
