Contract:             1 Year Fixed Term

Salary:                  30,000 BAM per annum

The International Waqf Fund (IWF) aims to provide a sustainable source of funding through promoting Waqf, managing the endowment funds and spending the returns on International Waqf Fund development projects.

We are currently recruiting for the position of ‘IWF Country Director – Bosnia & Herzegovina’ to join the Waqf team.

Job purpose:

• Responsible for IWF operation in Bosnia
• To represent International Waqf Fund at all levels in country
• To deliver IWF programme in Bosnia as per IWF UK’s strategy
• To facilitate professional and systematic communication and cooperation between the different parts of the IWF
• To lead, manage and develop staff in order to ensure that the country office is capable of fully achieving its agreed targets
• Risk Management and ensure compliance and quality improvement of the country programme
• To identify and develop business opportunities for IWF
• To adhere to all IWF policies
• To implement IWF programme as per Bosnian regulations and need to coherent to IWF UK requirements

The successful candidate must have:

• Work experience working as a director, manager or a senior management role with an International NGO or in the private and public sectors
• Substantial experience and knowledge of effective budgetary control and grant management
• Substantial experience in Waqf related work.
• Knowledge and experience of fundraising from institutional donors
• Experience of and commitment to participatory management and maintaining a supportive, open environment to ensure the learning and development of all staff.
• An in depth understanding of international development issues
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Proven experience of project managements
• Experience of managing and mentoring local and international staff
• Proven experience in overseeing programmes; understanding of quantitative and qualitative data in support of programme development
