Islamic Relief Worldwide has been present in Bosnia and Herzegovina since 1992 and through its work continuously provides assistance and support to the population of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and seeks to mitigate the negative socio-economic impacts.
Currently, Islamic Relief Bosnia and Herzegovina (IR&BIH) has its main office in Sarajevo and a sub-office in Tuzla. IR B&H operates many projects in different programs such as Child Welfare, Projects of psychosocial support, Agriculture, Fundraising, Emergency and Seasonal Projects. We operate across Bosnia and Herzegovina and work closely with Muslims and Non-Muslims, regardless of race, political affiliation, gender and belief.

Job Summary:
To manage the national finance and assist the Country director on administration while overseeing sub-offices’ functions and effective control of all financial matters ensuring reporting and compliance with donors and Islamic Relief financial guidelines.

Job description:
Organizes the work of the financial and accounting sector of the IR&BIH.
Inspects financial documentation and ensures compliance with financial policies and procedures
Prepares financial reports according to requests from the headquarters of the IRWW, donors and the director of the IR&BIH.
Prepares and sends to the IRWW headquarters monthly requests for transfer of funds for approved projects according to the cost planned in the budget of each project individually.
Performs complete supervision over the financial resources that are planned, delivered and spent for certain projects.
To assist and support the Programme Manager and Country Director in ensuring that field expenditures meet IR and institutional donor requirements and remain within the approved plans and budgets.
Calculates workers’ salaries and wage contributions.
Submits reports on paid salaries, contributions and taxes to the Tax Administration of the Federation of BiH.
In coordination with the Director is responsible for opening and closing bank accounts and with the coordination of the Finance Department at IRW HQ.
He/She is responsible for promoting a positive relationship with banks.
He/She is responsible for cash management, control of the cash register and the cash maximum, opening and closing the cash register as required by IR&BIH.
He/She is responsible for coordination and submission of financial documentation to the authorized external and internal Auditor during the regular, annual external audit of financial operations of the office or internal audit at the request of the IRWW headquarters or by order of the Director of IR&BIH.
Monitors and implements changes in the FBiH Law on Financial Operations, the Law on Accounting and the IRWW Financial Guide.
Ensures coordination between the finance department and all other departments within the office, provides project promoters with access to financial information throughout the financial year to monitor project implementation.
Manages a team within the finance department.
Essential:
Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Qualifications
At least three years of work experience in the same or similar jobs
Ability to work independently and provide initiative in improving finance functions.
To establish good working relationships with a variety of people.
To work under pressure and prioritize effectively
Previous experience working overseas, preferably with an NGO
Experience of managing and mentoring staff.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Active driver (B category)
Working knowledge of MS Office
Desirable knowledge in AX or ERP systems
Committed to Islamic Relief Worldwide values and code of conduct.
Qualifications:
At least completed high school, Certificate or the Faculty of Economics
Note: This job position is correspond to the level of secondary education
